Marketing plans tend to fall apart for the same reason relationships do: one side does all the work while the other coasts. A hospital pours money into paid ads but has no fresh content on its website. A community bank sponsors every Little League team in the county but never turns those appearances into stories people can find online. A college runs beautiful campaigns but skips the in-person events where prospective students actually make decisions.
At The Big Picture, we’ve built our approach around three pillars that have to carry weight together. When one is missing, the other two can’t hold up the roof.
Pillar One: Content Creation
Content is how your organization shows up when someone is looking, thinking, or deciding. It’s also how AI tools, search engines, and social platforms decide whether you’re worth surfacing at all.
Our content work covers written pieces, photography, and video. That includes patient and client success stories, staff interviews, video podcasts, and short industry tips that answer the questions your audience is already typing into a search bar. We produce it with the understanding that a single shoot should feed multiple channels: your website, your Google Business Profile, your e-newsletter, your social feeds, OTT placements, online education series, and news placements.
For a specialty clinic, that might mean a half-day on location capturing three patient stories, a physician Q&A, and a procedure explainer. Those assets then run as long-form articles, short social clips, newsletter features, and YouTube videos. One investment, many touchpoints.
This approach serves two audiences at once. Real people engage with it because it’s human and specific. Search engines and AI systems cite it because it’s original, relevant, and tied to a credible source. Generic blog posts assembled from the same recycled industry talking points don’t accomplish either.
Pillar Two: Community Connection
People still make decisions about where to bank, where to get care, where to send their kids to college, and where to build a business based on how an organization feels to them in person. A billboard can tell someone you exist. A handshake at a chamber breakfast tells them who you are.
We help clients design the in-person side of their marketing with the same seriousness we bring to the digital side. That means collaborations with other trusted organizations, sponsorships that put your name where your audience actually gathers, workshops that demonstrate your expertise, and events that give people a reason to walk through the door.
For a community bank, community connection might look like hosting a first-time homebuyer workshop with a local realtor and a nonprofit housing group. For an economic development organization, it could be a quarterly site-selector tour paired with a regional manufacturing summit. For a college, it might mean faculty showing up at regional high school counselor events rather than waiting for applications to arrive.
These moments matter on their own. They also produce the content, the photographs, the relationships, and the credibility that feed everything else you do.
Pillar Three: Campaigns
Content and community build the foundation. Campaigns make sure the right people know you’re there.
Our campaign work covers paid online advertising, social media advertising, Connected TV and OTT placements, and broadcast when it fits. On the traditional side, we handle direct mail, billboards, and print. The mix depends on where your audience actually spends attention, not on what’s trendy.
What separates a campaign from noise is creative that belongs to you. We develop the concept, the theme, the video, the photography, the copy, and the final deliverables as a package. A dental group shouldn’t run the same generic stock-photo ad as the practice three towns over. A hospital launching a new service line deserves a campaign that reflects its actual people and its actual patients.
We can hand over final files for your internal team to place, or we can partner with you on placement and optimization. Both paths are common, and the right choice usually comes down to how your marketing team is staffed.
Why All Three Matter
A hospital with strong content but no campaigns will be discoverable but under-known. A bank with great community presence but no content strategy will be loved locally but invisible online. A college running heavy campaigns without content depth or community roots will spend a lot of money convincing people of something that falls apart the moment they visit campus.
The pillars reinforce each other. Content gives your campaigns something true to say. Community connections give your content real stories to tell. Campaigns make sure the work you’ve already done reaches the audiences who need to see it. That’s the framework behind every plan we build. The specifics change for each client. The structure doesn’t.
